Faithful start pilgrimage trip to Muxima shrine


Luanda – Faithful from Our Lady Parish of Fátima, in Luanda, started Tuesday the pilgrimage trip to Muxima shrine, slated for 3 and 4 September. The faithful, mostly women dressed in religious clothes, made the last arrangements as they awaited the transports.According to Zurema de Moura, also member of Our Lady Parish, they are leaving in advance in order to avoid constraint caused by traffic jam. The Muxima village is located some 130 kilometres off Luanda.

 The Our Lady Church of Muxima was founded in 1599, by Baltazar Rebelo de Aragão, having been raised to the category of monument on 12 January 1924.
